    I was out with my family visting Antony House when I heard a beautiful song up above me. I tilted my head up to see a pretty little bird, perching on a branch above me. I got out my camera and captured her, just before she flew away.

    The long walk upto Tatton Park is spectactular vast wide open space. Yet if you search long enough you can find that place to have a few moments to yourself and reflect on life.

    This picture was taken while staying in a caravan overlooking the English seaside. I felt the picture encapsulated all aspects of a beautiful landscape in one; flowers, beach, sea and pale sky.

The competition

The Your Space photo competition is now closed.

Thank you for all of the entries submitted. Our panel of judges will be meeting to decide the winners and we'll be announcing the results in January 2013.

Categories

There are four categories: 10 & under, 11 to 16, over 16 and one for pictures taken on your smartphone.

Octavia Hill

This year marks the centenary of the death of one of our founders, the brilliant social reformer and environmentalist, Octavia Hill. Octavia was passionate about encouraging people to enjoy the benefits of nature and open spaces.
